-The Regional Business Council’s Young Professional Network Celebrates Ten Year Anniversary-
ST. LOUIS - Last night, the St. Louis Regional Business Council (RBC) inducted 21 outstanding new members into the 2018-2019 Young Professionals Network – Leadership 100. The induction ceremony was particularly joyous as the RBC also celebrated the tenth anniversary of it’s Young Professionals Network (YPN).
The distinguished group of 21 inductees into the Leadership 100 cohort are as diverse in backgrounds as they are in professional aspirations. Over half of the cohort is female, with 18 of the 21 inductees identifying as people of color. Representing 20 of the region’s most influential companies, inductees work in a range of fields including health care, finance, real estate, higher education, construction, defense, and marketing.
“These young professionals are already actively involved in our community and represent the top upcoming business talent in the region,” said Kathy Osborn, president and chief executive officer of the St. Louis RBC. “Over the last ten years, the YPN has grown to include a number of exciting community engagement projects, for which we are eager to engage our new inductees.”
Each year, 100 outstanding participants are recognized from the general YPN membership to take part in the Leadership 100 cohort. Cohort members are chosen based on leadership and community service. The leaders are provided professional, cultural and community service opportunities that offer unique experiences and engagement in St. Louis.
Launched in 2008, YPN was formed to attract and retain ethnically diverse professionals in the St. Louis business community. Ten years later, with over 4,200 diverse members, the YPN has developed into St. Louis’s premier young professional organization. YPN provides members with opportunities for business, social networking, professional development, and community involvement.
“You can’t find other organizations that offer the diverse opportunities that YPN provides. The RBC staff works really hard to connect us to resources that young professionals need,” says Raegan Johnson of Monsanto Company. “I wish the Young Professional’s Network, of the RBC, a wonderful 10 year anniversary”
The Regional Business Council (RBC) is a consortium of presidents and chief executive officers of mid- to large-sized companies in St. Louis. The mission of the RBC is to unite and engage members to act on high-impact business, civic and philanthropic affairs for the betterment of the St. Louis region.
